| Course Description | This course is designed to prepare students for undertaking an apprenticeship in the Electrotechnology industry. It will provide students with an opportunity to experience facets of the Electrotechnology industry. The students will use a variety of tools and equipment learning technical skills. It course begins with basic equipment and correct techniques, moving through to more complex and technical tasks such as reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and then constructing the circuit from scratch. This is a Career-Start course which includes relevant employability skills including understanding the industry, preparing resumes and applications, as well as participating in job interviews. It is recommended to have above basic mathematics (Algebra & Transposition etc.) as participants needs to be able to apply physical laws as well as solve mathematical problems. Assessment is done in a variety of ways including, exams, practical projects, research projects and assignments. All assessment tasks are expected to be completed on or before the due date. Students are expected to wear PEER provided shirts and have suitable PPE during practicals.

| Training Cost | $2,650.00 GST exempt Total cost $2,850 (includes $200 incl. GST material fee, invoiced in Term 1).
These fees may vary in 2021.
This course is delivered by an approved Skilling South Australia training provider, and as such, students may be eligible to be funded for the Training Cost of this course under a Training Guarantee for SACE students (TGSS). From January 2021, students who turn 16 in year 11 will be able to access subsidised training from the beginning of the school year. Please refer to your school's VET Coordinator for more information. This does not cover consumables.

| Orientation Details | Potential students and parents are to attend an information evening early in term 4 of 2020. This will occur at Mount Barker High School in the Trade Training Centre. Documents and employment opportunities will be discussed during this evening. Students that enrol in this course will be informed of this date. |
