| Course Description | Students who graduate from the Construction Pathways course and wish to further their construction skills in carpentry areas can apply for the D2C+ (carpentry) program. Students will undertake units of competency from Certificate III in Construction (carpentry). Successful completion of this D2C+ program may reduce the length of an apprenticeship by one to two years, to be negotiated with the Registered Training Organisation and future employer. Students are required to participate in structured workplace learning in industry. |
| Pathways | This course leads to Certificate III courses in a range of different trade areas as well as School Based Apprenticeships and full Apprenticeships. |
| Entry Requirements | Students applying for this course must have successfully completed the Certificate II in Construction Pathways program (or equivalent). |
| Other Requirements | The Personal Protective clothing and Equipment provided in 2020 must be re-used in 2021. Doorways shirts must be worn and visible at all times while on site. |

| Work Placement | 15 days The Structured Workplace Learning MUST be in carpentry and must be completed by the end of the Term 3 holidays.

| SACE Details | SACE Stage 2, 40 SACE credits Whilst successful completion of this course results in 40 credits at SACE Stage 2 it does not contribute to an ATAR score because it is not a full Certificate III.

| Training Cost | $3,080.00 GST exempt Course fees may change in 2021.
The CITB also currently funds a significant proportion of student training costs in construction for students who meet the eligibility criteria and who are 16 years of age at 1/2/2021. Please refer to your school's VET Coordinator for more information. This does not include consumables.
Non-member schools - an additional 15% admin levy up to $250 per student. |
