Course DescriptionCompletion of this course will allow the student to have a defined range of hospitality operational skills and introduce the student to basic industry knowledge. With this qualification, students will learn even more about the important skills required to offer great service and create enjoyable experiences for customers.
PathwaysThis qualification provides a pathway into potential careers outcomes such as Bar Attendant, Café Attendant, Catering Assistant, Food and Beverage Attendant, Front Office Assistant and Room Attendant. This qualification can also lead to further study in hospitality management, including Bachelor Degrees.
Entry RequirementsA genuine interest in Front of House Hospitality and successful completion of the VETRO process.
Other RequirementsTrainees will need to wear closed in black leather shoes, black full or ¾ length sleeve business shirt and black dress pants or black business skirt of respectable length. A display folder, A4 pad and pen are required. Students will be issued with a name badge which is part of the uniform to be worn each week.

This course is delivered by an approved registered training provider and as such, students may be eligible to be funded for the training cost of this course under a subsidised training contract (VFSS). Selection ProcessStudents will undertake the VET Readiness Orientation (VETRO) process in Semester 2, 2022 via a referral process completed at their Home School using an online from. Once the Home School has completed the referral process, students will be required to undertake a Snapshot Reading and Numeracy Assessment to demonstrate sufficient literacy and numeracy ability.
Orientation DetailsOrientation is undertaken on the first day Thursday 9 February 2023. Students to meet at Piltarilla Restaurant (entry via Gate 2) at Heathfield High School.
