Course Description | TAFESA offers students the opportunity to study the Certificate III in Individua Support (Ageing).
This qualification offers pathways to employment as a Direct Care Worker in Residential or Community Aged Care. It also offers a pathway to further study in many areas including Disability Services, Leisure and Health, Enrolled and Registered Nursing.
Delivery of this qualification includes formal study at TAFESA and a Structured Work Placement in a relevant setting.

Entry Requirements | Must have a strong interest in Aged Care and a moderate level of Literacy and Numeracy |
Other Requirements | All 3 certificates must be obtained prior to starting the course:
1. A DSCI clearance is required by ALL students prior to starting the course. Students must apply through their home school for this clearance. Cost is $55.00 payable to your home school.
2. A Police clearance is required and must be applied for prior to starting the course through the local police station. This is an additional cost.
3. A National Crime Check must be applied for prior to starting the course. This is an additional cost of $48.00. |

Dates and Times | 20 weekly sessions at TAFE SA Mount Barker Campus on Wednesdays from 09:00 until 15:30. Commencement date 03/02/21. |
Work Placement | 20 days 120 hours total (2 x 60 hours), TAFE SA allocate a placement for each student.

Training Cost | $3,392.50 GST exempt Course fees may change in 2019. Course fee covers both Year 1 and Year 2.
This course is delivered by an approved Skilling South Australia training provider, and as such, students may be eligible to be funded for the Training Cost of this course under a Training Guarantee for SACE students (TGSS). From January 2021, students who turn 16 in year 11 will be able to access subsidised training from the beginning of the school year. Please refer to your school's VET Coordinator for more information. This does not cover consumables.
