Course Description | This course has been designed to prepare students who are interested in cars, to experience a VET course and see if they wish to undertake further training in the Automotive Industry. The course is delivered at Mount Barker TAFE SA where students have access to a fully functioning workshop. |
Pathways | On completion of this short course, students may then choose to undertake the full Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology course, or gain an Apprenticeship in Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology. |
Entry Requirements | Students will need to demonstrate a genuine interest or experience in this industry. |
Other Requirements | Students are required to purchase the following Personal Protective Equipment to be used at ALL times in the workshop:
* Steel capped boots
* Cotton long sleeve work shirt and pants
* Safety glasses
Successful completion of this course will meet the VETRO requirements for the Certificate II in Automotive Servicing Technology course. |

Training Cost | $900.00 GST exempt This training cost may vary in 2022 and does not include consumables.
This training cost is the gap fee payable after subsidised government funding from the Department for Innovation and Skills (VFSS).
