Course Description | Using the design process, students will sketch, digitally draw and refine models and storyboards for feedback in order to create multiple 3D pieces based on simulated client requirements.
Students will learn about 3D Modelling Techniques, Animation Principles and create various 3D models and a final 3D animation with sound. |
Pathways | Students can follow up this course with a Cert III in Screen & Media (3D Modelling and 3D Animation) - Game Art Foundations to further develop character and 3D environments in industry standard software.
Focusing on Art development as an exciting and dynamic entertainment medium that can be adapted to suit architecture, product design and film making as well as emerging technologies such as Mixed Reality. |
Entry Requirements | Students will need to demonstrate a genuine interest in this industry.
Students will also need to undertake the VET Readiness Orientation (VETRO) process in Semester 2, 2021 via a referral process completed at their Home School using an online form.
Once the Home School has completed the referral process, students will be required to undertake a Snapshot Reading and Numeracy Assessment to demonstrate sufficient literacy and numeracy ability. |
Other Requirements | Students must be prepared to complete their study once a week conducted off campus during school hours.
Students will be required to wear their school uniform to all classes.
Students are required to have access to a PC at school or home, with the following recommended specifications:
• PC or Mac
• Windows 7 64-bit or Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later
• Quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 2.5 GHz or faster
• NVIDIA GeForce 470 GTX or AMD Radeon 6870 HD series card or higher
• 8 GB RAM (16GB recommended)
• Maya and Photoshop |
